Nicole Downey, Ph.D.
Nicole has worked on a variety of problems related to emissions from oil and gas operations, ozone, ozone precursors, greenhouse gases, mercury and molecular hydrogen in the atmosphere. She has experience with laboratory experiments, field-work, remote sensing and computer modeling. Nicole is well versed in oil and gas air emission sources and leads the development of ESS’s oil and gas emission models. She received her Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering from Caltech in 2006 and went on to become an Environmental Fellow at Harvard University. She spent two years as a postdoc at the University of Texas at Austin before founding Earth System Sciences in 2010. She specializes in data analysis, advanced statistical methods and scientific research that answers policy-relevant questions. e-mail Nicole
